Once an agent reads records and calls tools, anonymous automation is no longer acceptable. Companies need to know which agent acted, under whose authority, at what cost and with what context.

These controls matter in every sector: a healthcare agent touching records, a finance agent reconciling transactions, or an operations agent updating tickets all need constrained credentials and traceable actions.

Give agents distinct identities, allocate permissions by workflow, meter usage and downstream tool costs, and preserve traces of retrieval, reasoning steps available for inspection, tool calls and human approvals.
